In our second episode on productivity, we’ll be going over scheduling. How do you set up your time and plan for the optimal work we mentioned in part one? It can be complicated, but there’s a few good rules of thumb to get you going.
As you might have been able to read, this new series is on productivity. We’ll split this one over two episodes: working and scheduling. We’ll do working first, since it’s a more general skill as compared to scheduling.
In our final section on psychology, we’ll be talking about the science of habits.
Some of you may remember when we talked about biases during Behavior Economics. Well, since BE is, by definition, both economical and psychological, I thought it’d be appropriate to bring it back. So, for this quick laid back episode of Apalla, let’s run through a few more important biases — economic or not.
On this episode of Apalla, we’ll be talking about what is, in my opinion, one of the most intriguing concepts in psychology: that of the social game. Essentially, just like how there are identifiable and stable patterns in normal human life, there are identifiable and stable patterns in interactions between people as well. This is whatContinue reading “Apalla #28 – Psychology, Part 3”
Hello, and welcome to part two of our discussion of psychology. In this episode, we’ll be talking about refactoring. Refactoring is the process of redefining aspects of your life based on a specific catalyst, often such as a brush up with death, a break up, or unemployment.
Today, we’re talking about some general psychology topics. Since I’m a big psychology fan, I have quite a few psychology docs on hand — however, I do also have a “miscellaneous” doc for smaller topics. I figure I’ll start off the psychology folder by firing off a couple of these as their own Psychology series.
Finally, we’ve reached stretching. I don’t have too much for this topic, though I thought I’d save it to the end since it provides good tips regardless of whether you’re weight training or running.
If weight training is good for aesthetics, then cardio is good for general health. You probably won’t look ripped just by running, but you’ll certainly gain a healthy heart. Of course, the ideal combination is both of these — but since this episode is cardio, let’s focus on that.
So, this episode marks our entry into fitness. Since health is a big subject all-together, we’ll skip talking about things like diet and sleep for now, and leave them to their own series. Instead, we’ll split this series up into weight training and cardio, which are the two main types of fitness, as well as stretching, which is an essentialContinue reading “Apalla #23 – Fitness, Part 1”
